Topic Summary: Recently, in a meeting with a CIO from a large county here in GA, the CIO stated, “You’re never going to sell me GIS, you have to sell me a solution. This applies to my GIS Manager and my vendors, alike.” Join me as we review recent events, headlines and news clips that provide ample opportunity for our GIS community to apply solution-based-selling to our leadership.

Speaker Bio: Rob Hathcock is the Georgia Local Government Account Manager with Esri. He is a resident of Cobb County. Prior to working at Esri, Rob was the Geospatial Data Manager and Local Government Coordinator for the GA Department of Transportation. He served 18 years in the US Army deploying to Bosnia, Guantanamo Bay and Iraq. He finished his career as the Senior Geospatial Advisor to the Joint Staff. Rob has three children, Olivia (9), Nash (6) and Sutton(1.5). The oldest attend Sope Creek Elementary. Rob has a passion for evangelizing GIS within local government, education, local communities and nonprofits.
