URISA International

The Urban and Regional Information Systems Association (URISA) is a non-profit professional and educational association that promotes the effective and ethical use of spatial information and information technologies for the understanding and management of urban and regional systems. It is a multidisciplinary association where professionals from all parts of the spatial data community can come together and share concerns and ideas.

Georgia URISA is a proud chapter serving geospatial industry and community in the State of Georgia.

NGAC Nominations Due Soon

This is a reminder that nominations for the next round of appointments to the National Geospatial Advisory Committee are due by Tuesday, August 24.  If you have colleagues or partners who are interested in serving on the committee, please encourage them to submit their nominations by the 24th.  

Open Street Map

From URISA Board Member, Carl Anderson...

As some of you are aware, OpenStreetMap is having its US State of the Map (SOTM-US) conference in Atlanta this Aug 14-15 (a weekend).  At $35 the event is fairly inexpensive and will be filled with passionate mappers from across the US.  Unfortunately there is not much advance notice, but I see that airfare that weekend is fairly cheap.
