Georgia URISA is pleased to announce its next monthly luncheon, scheduled on Tuesday, September 14th from 11:30AM to 1:30PM.
This event is hosted by Jacobs, Inc. (formerly JJ&G), located at 6801 Governors Lake Parkway, Norcross, GA 30071. Everyone should check in with the receptionist in the building lobby upon arrival. The meeting room is on the Third Floor.

Topic: An Intro to Open Street Map for GIS Professionals
Speaker: Lisa Jackson
Description:
Open Street Map (OSM) is an open source mapping project that is free, and open to the public. In this presentation I will give an overview of recent OSM-US conference held in Atlanta, discuss the open source editing, and conversion tools, and share my experience with working in the OSM mapping environment. I also plan to talk about the new ESRI OSM import tool, and share the philosophy behind this community based project.
Speaker Bio:
Lisa Jackson, Principal Geospatial Specialist at GeoGoody, has over 11 years experience working with GIS technologies in Georgia. Before starting her own business, she worked at Georgia Tech and the University of Georgia on facilities mapping, enterprise GIS management, and cartographic design projects. Lisa is a member of and committee volunteer for Georgia URISA, URISA International, OSM-US and the OSM Foundation. She currently lives and works in the Atlanta area.

Monthly luncheons are held on the 2nd Tuesday of every month. They are intended to provide educational and networking opportunities, along with a sensible meal. Most of our luncheons are orchestrated according to the following agenda:

Member Cost – Early Registration (by September 10): $15.00
Non-Member Cost – Early Registration (by September 10): $18.00
Member/Non-Member – Late Registration (after September 10): $20.00

Friday preceding the meeting. This allows time so that nametags can be
prepared and we have an accurate headcount for food. If you have not
registered by the deadline of Friday, and still attend the meeting,
please display professional courtesy in allowing those who registered
