2011 Georgia URISA Board Nominations
Hello Fellow Georgia URISA Members,
I just wanted to send you all a quick reminder that nominations are still open for next year’s board. The positions that are open are:
- Conference and Workshop Chair
- Webmaster
- Education & Outreach Chair
Anyone that is a member in good standing is eligible to be nominated for one of these positions. Nominations are open until the end of the month. Each term on the board in these positions is for two years. Being a member of the board is a great way to earn points for your GISP, develop your career, network with others on a whole new level, and really get your finger on the pulse of the GIS field here in the State. I have been a member of the GA URISA board for over 6 years now. I can tell you it is hard work but well worth it. I have had the chance to work with some of the best and brightest in our field, meet great people, and learn skills which will help me further my career in the future. I would not trade my time on the board for anything.
If you are interested in running for one of these positions or wish to nominate someone please contact me at ipp@gaurisa.org. I have included brief job descriptions for each position below.
